Good morning and I am thinking of you going into the appt, hoping that the rheummy will help settle this rotten flare and have some good ideas.

Dear Jenni

Bless you for thinking of me!!

Saw the (gorgeousLove- well, there's got to be some compensation for this awful RA ) rheumy today. I did get told off a bit for not contacting the hospital helpline - didn't tell him that it's quicker to see a GP!

As I expected, the sulf is no longer effective,so he's going to put me on methotrexate.
When I saw the emergency GP on Sunday he put me on tramadol and meloxicam which has eased the flare a bit. I took 2 days off work to rest as well. The tramadol has made me a bit spaced out so rheumy said only to take it at night to help me sleep.

I've got to see the rheumy nurse to get started and have an assessment- whatever that means. So fingers crossed that methotrexate works. Meanwhile I've got to keep taking the sulf otherwise I'll just get a lot worse.

I'm pleased that things are getting sorted but a bit cheesed off as well ,as there I was blissfully thinking that once on the sulf, all would be ok! As it was for a good 18 months. I'm still a naive newbie to all this RA lark.

Anyway- enough of me- how are you?

Love

hi maria! So pleased it went well and the rheummy is on the ball.

Eye candy should be free on the NHS anyway I think!ThumpUp

MTX is the gold standard drug for the RA nowadays and I am pleased that rheummy nurse is going to give you the once over too.

Are you feeling better movement wise?

Hi Maria - am so glad your rheumy is listening and looking at further options - and that you are getting some relief from the pain.

Hi Maria

I'm glad you've been given MTX, it is a very good drug that works well for most people. It can take up to 6 months to work fully though. Hang in there!
